Presentation Room, Practice Tables, Qualification Spots

Hello Teams,

I have been getting a few questions over then last week and I hope this email will clear things up:

PRESENTATIONS ROOMS:
We will provide power to each of the room, if your students use a projector for there project please come prepared with a projector and a screen.  Some of our rooms have projector screens and some don’t, so we can’t guarantee that your room will.

Please remember that no adults are allowed in the judging rooms, so your student need to be able to setup everything. (Setup is part of your team 5 minute presentation.)

PRACTICE TABLES:
We will have two fully functional practice tables the will be available the whole day.  We will give everyone a chance to use them. Space is limited, so we must ask that teams not to bring there own table to the event.

QUALIFICATION SPOTS:
13 teams will qualify for the State Tournament at WPI on 12/19.

12 of the 13- Will qualify based on their performance in the CHAMPION’S AWARD category. It is quite reasonable (and happened last year) that teams that win the robot performance part WILL NOT qualify.

The final 13th team- Judges can choose one additional team that they think stands out and deserves to go to the Championship, even if they haven’t scored high enough to qualify regularly.  This may be a rookie team that shows much enthusiasm and excitement, a team that displays the core values, etc.  The judges will make this decision and are not required to choose someone.  If they don’t, it will simply mean a waitlist spot will open up.

Golden Tickets: 12
Bonus Tickets: 1
Waitlist Teams: 4
